Do I need to be a member to enter a casino in Great Britain?
No. The membership and 24-hour waiting rules ended when the Gambling Act 2005 came into force in September 2007. You must be 18 or over and carry photo ID. Some venues register first-time visitors at reception; others are open-door.
What ID is accepted?
A passport or a photocard driving licence. Venues operate Think 25, so anyone who looks under 25 is asked for proof of age. A bank card is not proof of age.
Is there a dress code?
Usually smart-casual. Grosvenor says formal dress is not required but rules can vary by casino or event; Genting accepts smart jeans and trainers and refuses football shirts, vest tops and caps. Where a venue publishes nothing we say so.
Are the casinos open all night?
Several are open 24 hours, others close between 4 am and 6 am. Live tables usually start later than the doors open, often at noon, 1 pm or 6 pm. Each venue page shows door hours and table hours in London time.
Can I reach the casino from the hotel without going outside?
Where the casino is inside the hotel building it usually keeps its own street entrance; an internal route may exist but is not always public. We quote what the operators say and mark what we could not confirm.
Why does this site show no prices?
A third-party site cannot keep a total price accurate, and UK law requires the seller to show the total price including mandatory fees before you book. We link to the hotel’s own booking page instead.
Does this site take bookings or offer bonuses?
No. It is an information directory. There are no bookings, no promotions, no affiliate links and no online gambling, and it links to no gambling website. Casino operators are identified by their Gambling Commission account numbers.
Can children stay at these hotels?
Generally yes, subject to the hotel’s rules, but under-18s are not allowed on a casino floor and several hotels set 18 as the minimum check-in age. Resorts World Birmingham’s spa is also over-18s only.
How do I exclude myself from casinos?
Through SENSE, the national self-exclusion scheme for all licensed land-based casinos in Great Britain. Enrol online or with a manager at any casino. Online gambling uses GAMSTOP.
Are casinos in Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man or Jersey included?
No. Northern Ireland does not permit casinos, and the Crown Dependencies have their own laws outside the Gambling Act 2005. This guide covers England, Scotland and Wales.
Is there a Polish version, and who is it for?
Yes. The Polish edition describes the same venues in Great Britain for Polish speakers who live here or visit. It is not addressed to Poland, where advertising casino games is prohibited by law.
