Casino staff are trained to talk about limits and breaks. Ask at reception about time-outs, spend limits on gaming machines and how to self-exclude on the spot. The Gambling Commission publishes the rules operators must follow.
gamblingcommission.gov.ukSigns worth noticing
- Spending more money or time than you decided to before you started.
- Going back to try to recover what you lost.
- Borrowing, selling things or hiding gambling from people close to you.
- Gambling to change how you feel rather than for entertainment.
- Arguments, missed work or sleep because of gambling.
None of these means you have to stop for good, but each is a reason to talk to someone. The helpline advisers are used to first calls.
What this site does and does not do
- We describe licensed venues; we do not sell gambling, take bookings or run promotions.
- We show no bonuses, no “free” anything, and no online casinos, licensed or not.
- We do not use imagery or language aimed at under-18s, and we show no one who is or looks under 25 taking part in gambling.
- We keep the helpline and self-exclusion links on every page, and we are happy to remove a listing at a venue’s request.
If you think anything here breaks those rules, please tell us.
